As early as a thousand years ago, the Prophet Muhammad warned his disciples: “you should seek knowledge, although it is far in China” Follow these teachings of the Prophet, many Arabic wise men travel all the way to Chang’an (now Xi’an), the ancient capital of Tang Dynasties to learn Chinese knowledge and cultural, and exchange ideas with the local people. Therefore, there are sayings such as: “Learning Lane,” “gathering pool” and other names still in use. The Arabic man Li Yan (his Chinese name) also participated in the Tang imperial examination, and he passed the exam and become a governor at the time. Many stories about this has spread and passed on generations by generations until today.

We are engaged in building a bridge for Muslim students of both countries. We have a well-designed study tour program which will help those students who visit Xi’an to meet local Muslims, to learn and to communicate with each other, especially for those who are learning mandarin now, this is a opportunity for you to practice your mandarin as well as expose you to the modern China today. They will have a chance to experience the history, folklore and culture of Xi’an. We hope our effort could help them to know more about China and Chinese Muslims. This will inject new vitality for international Muslim culture exchange activities. May Allah bless Muslim culture!
